Discover Kings Of Persia

Walking into Kings Of Persia feels like stepping into a place that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t try to be anything else. Tucked away at Unit 2/8 Exchange Rd, Malaga WA 6090, Australia, this spot has quietly built a reputation among locals who care more about flavour than fuss. I first came here after a long workday, the kind where you want something filling and comforting, and the experience stuck with me enough to warrant repeat visits.

The menu leans heavily into Persian comfort food, with grilled meats, rice dishes, and slow-cooked stews taking centre stage. One of the things that stood out to me early on was the consistency. On three separate visits, the koobideh arrived juicy and evenly seasoned, which sounds simple but is surprisingly hard to get right. According to food science research from the University of Guelph, consistent grilling temperature and meat fat ratios are key to flavour retention, and it’s clear the kitchen here understands that process in practice. You can taste the balance rather than just read about it.

What really adds depth to the experience is how the dishes are prepared. The rice isn’t just a side; it’s fragrant, fluffy, and clearly rinsed and soaked properly before cooking, a traditional method used in Persian kitchens for generations. I once chatted briefly with a staff member about this, and they mentioned the importance of patience in rice preparation. That lines up with guidance from culinary institutes like Le Cordon Bleu, which emphasize timing and water control as critical steps. It’s refreshing to see those methods respected in a casual diner setting.

Reviews from regular customers often highlight portion size and value, and I’d agree. This isn’t a place where you leave hungry. The plates are generous without feeling careless, which matters when you’re ordering for a group. On one visit, we shared several dishes across the table, and it turned into an informal tasting session that gave everyone a clear sense of the menu’s range. The stews, especially, benefit from this approach since their flavours deepen the longer they’re enjoyed.

Service is relaxed and unpretentious, which suits the overall vibe. No one rushes you, and questions about ingredients are answered confidently. That matters more now than ever, as Food Standards Australia New Zealand reports that food transparency is a growing concern for diners. While Kings Of Persia isn’t flashy about it, the willingness to talk through dishes builds trust.

Location-wise, Malaga isn’t exactly a nightlife hub, but that works in this restaurant’s favour. It feels like a destination for people who know what they’re looking for. Parking is straightforward, and the area is easy to access, which is a small but meaningful detail when you’re planning a meal out after a long day.

There are a few limitations worth noting. The dining area is functional rather than stylish, and peak times can mean a short wait. That said, the kitchen pace remains steady, and food quality doesn’t dip when it’s busy, something many larger restaurants struggle with according to industry data from the Australian Restaurant & Café Association.

Words like authentic Persian flavours and generous family-style meals come up often when people talk about this place, and they’re accurate without being exaggerated. Kings Of Persia isn’t trying to reinvent Persian cuisine; it’s focused on doing the fundamentals well, plate after plate. For diners who value honest cooking, clear flavours, and a menu that respects tradition while staying approachable, this spot earns its reputation through experience rather than hype.

  • Absolutely loved our dinner at Kings of Persia! The food was rich, authentic, and full of flavour — exactly what you’d expect from a quality Persian restaurant. The joojeh kebab and ghormeh sabzi were standout dishes, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and the saffron rice was cooked to perfection. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere made for a really comfortable dining experience. If you’re in the area and craving traditional Persian cuisine, Kings of Persia is a must-visit. Highly recommended for both dine-in and takeaway!

  • Kings of Persia is one of my favorite restaurants in Perth! The food is always excellent — my personal favorite is the Sultani, which is absolutely delicious. The lamb fillet (barg) is perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor, and the koobideh is also really good. The portions are generous and well-balanced, and everything is served hot and fresh. The restaurant is very clean, with a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere, great for both family dinners and work gatherings. The staff are professional, attentive, and very careful about allergies. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys authentic Persian cuisine or wants to explore a variety of traditional and delicious Iranian dishes!

  • Great Cultural Heritage. Persian Empire the proven first Civilization to introduce Human Rights over 2500 years ago. I am angry and sick of politicians who still think that changing the Name of a place that has spiritual connection to the first Civilized Nation in the world and has nothing to do with the current Regime. Doing so will deeply hurt Persian Citizens. I am sure this a FAKE news from the left Democrat propaganda and assures you that President TRUMPS never do such a thing.

  • Fantastic Persian cuisine, very warm and welcoming staff, a great and relaxing atmosphere to sit and enjoy your food. Barg kebab is simply extraordinary and you will not find similar to this anywhere in Perth. By the way, don't forget about the Persian ice cream, definitely worth a try. It tastes the best

  • We have been on the run to try all Persian restaurants around Perth. The staff at the restaurant were welcoming & cheerful. I ordered the Grilled Koobideh & Chicken Skewers, which were very rich in charcoal flavour and juicy with a delicious marinade. The saffron rice was buttery and nice too! My friends got the lamb backstrap along with the pomegranate dish, Fesenjoon. It was rich and authentic, although it could have used extra pomegranate molasses to be more tangy (according to my Persian friend). The seating environment is great, however the tables need some maintenance as some of the wood was peeling off. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner there & we had a nice time.

From the aromatic saffron rice to the tender and succulent kebabs, each dish was a testament to the culinary prowess of the chef.
